Cynthia Corcoran

About

Cynthia Corcoran lives in Somerville MA with her wife/best friend and their three cats. In a previous life, she worked as a Biomedical Engineer at a large medical device company. This was incredibly boring and somehow very stressful at the same time. After far too much handwringing, she convinced herself to quit her job and be a writer. She has written a science fiction novel (currently being submitted) and is working on her memoir. In both of these projects, she explores the themes of religious trauma, institutional rigidity, and mental health. Her childhood experiences of growing up as a conservative evangelical Christian with military parents have left her with ample material to draw on as she continues to process the myriad of traumas introduced into her psyche. When she’s not writing, you can find her in the garden with her plant children or in the kitchen making her wife a special meal.
